As we go through life, all of us experience difficult situations.  Because we are human, very often choose to face those situations by ourselves.  The issue with trying to help ourselves as we wrestle with life’s problems is this:  If we had the methods of working through problems on our own, we wouldn’t get into the difficulty to begin with.

Look at it this way.  If you are in a deep hole of dirt, the last thing you need is to have someone throw you a shovel.  You don’t dig your way out of a hole, you just dig the hole deeper.   Trying to solve life’s problems on your own just makes them worse.

What you really need to get out of that hole is a rope, a lifeline.  If someone throws you a lifeline, you can climb out of the hole.  In our daily lives, there is one lifeline that can get you out of any “hole” and get you through any difficult situation.  That lifeline is the Holy Bible.  There is help here for any problem you encounter. There’s another benefit to using the Bible as your lifeline, too.  In it you will find the best guide you’ll ever find, someone who will keep you from being lost in the wilderness of life.  His name is Jesus Christ.            When life’s difficulties start weighing  you down, turn to God and his Word for help.  As it says in Psalm 121, “From where does my help come?  My help comes from the Lord Who made Heaven and Earth.”

If you need assistance in finding the places in the Bible to find help, turn to your Pastor.  He will help you find the appropriate passages to start you on your way to better days ahead.
