Many people believe that if they become Christians and accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, all of the sudden their lives will become all rainbows and unicorns.  Nothing could be further from the truth.            One of the real prerequisites of becoming a true Christian is spending time studying the entire Bible.  By so doing, you will learn that the harsh truth of being a Christian is that you will often SUFFER, BE OSTRACIZED, BE BELITTLED.  There is a cost associated with our commitment to being Christians.  And by reading your Bible thoroughly, you will come to understand just how high that cost was for those who led the way.            Sometimes the things that we experience as Christians cause us to shy away from our role as disciples of Christ.  We would rather turn away from confrontation, from being called names or being made fun of than to stand our ground.            If you are in that category, or have been in the past, it pays to remember that Jesus Christ didn’t shy away from any of his ridicule, any of the hardships he faced.  In fact, he died a horrible death hanging on a wooden cross so that we may live forever in the Kingdom His---and our--- Father has waiting for us.

So next time you think it is really tough to be a TRUE Christian, remember Jesus hanging on that cross.  Maybe you’ll decide you don’t have it so bad after all.
