Christians are the greatest excuse makers and most prominent excuse givers as well, I don’t feel led in that, The Lord is doing something different with me, I just don’t think that’s what that means, etc. etc.

Five minutes around “Christians” and you will no doubt have heard these or some variant but long story short, If a “Christian” doesn’t want to do something there always seems to be some divine revelation from God about how to get out of it. My question then becomes why is there no revelation of commitment either see God will never approve doing nothing, even when we wait on the Lord, we are studying and praying, fasting, serving in the local church, There is always something for us to be doing. Matthew 28 gives us the great commission ““Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20

There is no reason for us to do nothing and at the same time as stated in a previous article it is okay to say NO. We must never confuse busyness with holiness they are not the same. What’s the point? Good question here is my point we should as Christians be balancing our “works” with our time being refreshed in the Lord. We should make it a point to be an example to those around us as a people who keep their word and do not commit to what they cannot do in fact Jesus teaches us “Let what you say be simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything more than this comes from evil.” Matthew 5:37 Church should not be something we “get to when it’s convenient” we should in fact run to Church as a chance to be gathered to each other as is pleasing to the Lord. Stop making excuses and start making changes. Yes for some of us this wont be fun at first. Telling our friends we aren’t going to stay out late on Saturday or choosing to be in bed early so we can wake rested and ready for an encounter with the living God, no it will not be easy but it will always be worth it.
